Product Description

Asbestos remains the single greatest cause of work-related deaths in the UK, responsible for approximately 5,000 fatalities every year. Although banned in 1999, it is still present in millions of buildings constructed before the year 2000.

This Asbestos Awareness training course is an essential online programme designed to fulfil the legal duty of employers under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. It provides critical knowledge for anyone whose work could disturb the fabric of a building, helping to prevent exposure to asbestos fibres that can cause devastating diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, and lung cancer.

The course clearly explains what asbestos is, why it is so dangerous, and provides practical, actionable steps to manage the risk and respond safely if asbestos is unexpectedly encountered.

Course Sections:

  • Asbestos Awareness
Examine what asbestos is and why it is dangerous, the 6 different types of asbestos, the history, who is at risk, asbestos-containing materials, as well as related diseases.
  • Practical Steps
Understand the practical steps to reduce and remove the risks at work, focusing on Asbestos Management Plans and the typical scenarios involving asbestos.

Accreditations: CPD certified, IOSH approved.
Languages: Available in 40 languages.
Duration: Approx. 30 minutes.
