General Product Questions

What should be included in a workplace first aid kit?

This depends on your risk assessment, but common items include sterile plasters, bandages, eye pads, gloves, and a guidance leaflet. Kits should conform to BS 8599-1:2019

Do first aid supplies expire?

Yes. Items like bandages, antiseptics, and gloves degrade over time. Expired supplies can lose effectiveness or become unsafe to use.

How do I know when to replace items in my kit?

Check expiry dates regularly and replace used items immediately. Consider setting calendar reminders when you first purchase your kit 

Are your first aid kits compliant with UK regulations?

Yes, our workplace kits meet British Standard BS 8599-1:2019

What’s the difference between a defibrillator and a defibrillator accessory?

Defibrillators are life-saving devices for cardiac arrest. Accessories include pads and batteries, which must be replaced periodically.

How do I know which defibrillator is right for my business?

This depends on your environment and staff training. Each model has slightly different features that may be more suited to a business than another. Our customer service team can help guide your choices if required.

Do defibrillators require maintenance?

Yes. Pads and batteries have shelf lives and should be checked regularly. Monitoring services can also be purchased to support keeping your devices in good health.

Order Questions

Where is my order?

Unless advised, all orders are despatched the same working day, when ordered before 10am. If you think your order is delayed, please contact customer services for more information.

How do I return my product(s) for a refund?

If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return your item(s) within 30 days of the despatch date for a refund.

Email our team at claims@sja.org.uk with your order details. They’ll provide a unique reference number and guide you through the return process.

Do you deliver overseas?

We do not provide a delivery service to our international customers on our website. I you have any specific requests, please contact us to discuss.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland?

Yes. Sadly due to the extra shipping costs we incur, our delivery service to the Northern Ireland is more expensive than to mainland UK.

Do you deliver to the Channel Islands?

Yes. We are able to provide our Channel Island customers fast delivery with Royal Mail. Furthermore, our website removes VAT charges for our customers with a billing address and shipping address in the Channel Islands.

My order arrived damaged. What do I do?

Please contact our customer services team immediately. Have photographs ready to send so we can access the damages.

Yes. We can provide custom quotes for items not in the standard catalogue

Do you offer training on how to use first aid supplies?

Yes. We offer blended and in-person training, including CPR, AED use, and paediatric first aid.

Workplace kits are designed for compliance and broader risks, while family kits focus on home and child-specific needs.
