Product Description

The Russell Chest Seal is a hydrogel-based dressing with a low-profile, four-aperture valve system designed for treating penetrating chest wounds. It creates a one-way seal allowing air to escape the pleural cavity while preventing re-entry, minimising lung collapse and aiding re-inflation.

This device features a water-containing gel matrix on non-woven fabric with silicon-coated release liners, ensuring comfortable long-term wear. The seal remains securely adhered for extended periods while allowing wound monitoring, ideal for emergency services, trauma centres, first aid, and military use.

Key features

  • Hydrogel matrix base for strong adhesion, even in challenging conditions
  • One-way valve prevents tension pneumothorax
  • Non-woven fabric backing provides durability
  • Silicon-coated release liners for easy emergency application

Minimum shelf life of one year.

Product Features

  • Fast, easy, intuitive application for rapid emergency treatment
  • Patented hydrogel matrix ensures reliable adhesion up to 24 hours
  • Four large peripheral apertures allow effective drainage of air and blood
  • Large central hole enables quick, accurate placement without obstructing the wound
  • Compact design (20 x 15cm) fits easily into medical kits and emergency supplies
