Evacuation chairs – manual or powered – are class 1 Medical Devices (MDR EU 2017/745) and are recommended to be inspected on an annual basis. This Evacuation Chair Maintenance package is a one-off service for your manual evacuation chair, and covers a 28-point inspection of your equipment by a certified service engineer. It is ideal for businesses, schools, healthcare providers, public buildings and any other organisation responsible for safely evacuating mobility-impaired individuals.
Adhering to PUWER Regulations (Provision and Use of Works Equipment Regulations 1998), a full professional inspection will involve the structural integrity of your equipment, as well as operational performance, textiles, wheels, signage and safety components. The engineer will assist you in meeting your requirements and will visit your premises at an agreed date and time, with all of the tools necessary to complete the service. Where needed, belts, components and safety-critical parts will be replaced using approved materials.
Once it is complete, you will receive a detailed certificate of inspection for your records, outlining scores, flagged items, engineer notes and required actions. In addition, your equipment will be marked with an inspection sticker.
