The CDM 2015 in Practice course provides a clear, practical understanding of the UK Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015. It explains the legal duties placed on Clients, Designers, Principal Designers, Contractors and Principal Contractors, and shows how to plan, manage and monitor construction work safely and compliantly from concept to completion.

Learners explore how duty‑holders interact, what “good” looks like in pre‑construction and construction phases, and which documents are required to evidence compliance. The course also introduces those new to CDM to key terminology, scope and application, helping them work confidently with design teams, contractors and stakeholders to reduce risk, avoid delays and improve project outcomes.

  • Client Duties & Responsibilities – expectations, appointments and proportionate management.
  • The Five Duty Holders – practical, interactive responsibilities for Client, Principal Designer, Designer, Principal Contractor, Contractor.
  • General Site Requirements – core health & safety standards on construction sites.
  • CDM Documentation – notification, pre‑construction information, construction phase plan, and health & safety file.
