We won't just tell you about first aid. We'll give you the confidence to deliver first aid when and where its needed.

This three-hour course provides essential life-saving skills to help you respond confidently in emergencies at home, work, or in your community. The Community Lifesaver course is designed for anyone who wants to learn CPR, defibrillator use, and first aid for all ages.

Our Community Lifesaver course combines practical, hands-on training with expert instruction to build confidence and competence in emergency response. You’ll learn how to manage critical situations involving adults, children, and infants, including cardiac arrest, choking, and severe bleeding.

This course is ideal for parents, carers, and community members who want to be prepared for real-life emergencies. Upon completion, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to act quickly when every second counts.

A comprehensive session covering essential emergency life support procedures for adults, children, and infants:

  • Adult, child, and baby resuscitation (CPR)
  • Recognising and responding to chest pain
  • Managing choking in adults, children, and babies
  • Using a defibrillator: prompts and pad placement
  • Conducting a primary survey
  • Helping unresponsive individuals
  • Controlling bleeding
  • Responding to seizures

This learning style is entirely classroom based and requires you to attend in person with a group of other delegates. This benefits those who prefer interactive sessions with the opportunity to ask questions to the instructor.

Pick one of our training venues across the country, and choose a date to come and train with the experts.

  • This course is suitable for ages 16 plus (ages 14/15 can be accompanied by an adult).
  • Delegates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2).
  • Delegates must complete all modules.
  • Delegates must act in a professional and appropriate manner, in line with our HEART values.
  • You need to be physically fit enough to be able to demonstrate CPR*

CERTIFICATION
Delegates who successfully complete this Community Lifesaver Course will receive a St John Ambulance certificate of attendance on completion of the course.

ASSESSMENT
Delegates will not be assessed during this course.
